Buying a Vehicle in Panama

When you first arrive in Panama, one of the first things you may want to do is locate a vehicle. We assist new residents of Panama in purchasing a used automobile. Our target market consists of individuals seeking a used car with a budget of $10,000 or more.

The process of finding a reputable dealer, ensuring the car is not a write-off rebuild, verifying the title is clear of any issues, transferring the title to your name, obtaining a current license plate, and securing the proper insurance is also very important.

We typically purchase all of our vehicles in Panama City, as the country’s largest city, with approximately 50% of the population residing there, offers the most options. Oscar (our car guru) has a mechanical background and, over the last eight years, has built many relationships with reputable dealers in Panama City, gaining access to a great selection of pre-owned vehicles. In the last year alone, we have purchased over $1,000,000 worth of vehicles for our clients.

The steps are as follows: You hire us for the service and provide us with a list of vehicles you like, as well as your demands. Please send us links to automobiles for sale from any car sites so we can view them. Make a note of your preferred color, features, year, and maximum mileage; be thorough.

Oscar will review all of his contacts and prepare a list for you to evaluate, after which you’ll narrow it down to a shortlist. Oscar will travel to Panama City and use photographs and live video with you to narrow things down even more.

Your final selections will be test-driven, mechanically inspected, title and tax checked, and price negotiated. Upon payment directly to the seller, Oscar will transfer the title, purchase insurance, and drive the vehicle back to you.
