We're glad we decided to book "Retire in Panama Tours" because we saw things and spent time with people who we would probably not have seen/met if it weren't for the tour. We were able to develop a pretty broad picture of what retiring in Panama would be if we decided to take that step forward. We can highly recommend this tour and we only have words of praise for Oscar, Meghan and Rod. Oscar was extremely attentive and flexible throughout the whole tour, and was focused on ensuring that everybody had a great experience. I would like recommend this tour to anyone who is thinking about retiring in Panama. The small number of people in the tour allowed a very exclusive experience and made all the difference.

That extended to all the locals and expats we interacted with along the way as well.
We truly got an authentic experience and feel fortunate to have been able to share it with a small group of like-minded people.
We already miss all the amazing fresh fruit and seafood that was so readily available everywhere. You won't ever be left feeling hungry on this trip!
My only caution would be to those who have mobility issues. Accessibility is lacking - sidewalks in Panama City are largely uneven and nearly non-existent elsewhere. Same for designated crosswalks. It wasn't an issue for my husband and I but may be for others.
We thoroughly enjoyed the mountain town of Boquete so much we plan to return on our own in October to experience the rainy season.
Muchas Gracias, Retire in Panama! Ciao!

Retire in Panama Tours - What an experience! - Thinking of retiring in Panama? Then we have a recommendation for you! My wife Cherie and I were fortunate enough to come across the Retire in Panama Tours site, while... read more searching for a service in 2019. Not to ‘muddy the water’ here, but due to a few unforeseen issues, including a pandemic, we were finally able to schedule this tour December 1st through the morning of the 8th. Note that Megan was super understanding as it related to the rescheduling, which we deeply appreciated... now, the tour...
This was truly an *experience*, where you are immersed in the culture in many areas across Panama. We stayed in 7 hotels, with all meals being well planned throughout the tour week. The group is quite small, ours was 9 people, but I believe they will do up to 12 total, which keeps it very intimate in our opinion. Our group of 9 stay connected via WhatsApp and provide updates regarding our individual journeys still, so cool. One of the most important aspects of the tour is that you meet with expats who have landed in different areas of Panama, and they join you throughout the trip for meals to share their experiences! This was hugely helpful given that they truly have unique views covering many aspects related to moving from Cananda, USA, Great Britain, etc... they have seen almost everything you would need to navigate retirement in Panama!
In addition to the expats and their wealth of knowledge, you meet with experts in the area for things like real estate (buying or renting), visa procurement, legal advice for immigration, insurance (healthcare), purchasing vehicles and insuring them, moving your belongings down from your place of residence, etc... We even looked at several properties for rent or to buy. We got a ‘taste’ of Panama City, Coronado, David, Boquete, Pedasi and Las Lajas (Show Pony was so fun... beach time!!).
The most important aspect of the tour was the people hosting us, they are incredibly special human beings. I would like to give a huge personal shout out to Oscar who made the trip exciting and made sure that everything went smoothly from start to finish! He kept things moving, giving information about the areas that we visited, made introductions to hotel/resort owners and was just a super charismatic dude! My next shout out would be to Fabrice our driver extraordinaire, such a good soul and man, speaking French, Spanish and English with him kept things interesting and funny every day, and man he is a fit guy! Rod joined us in Boquete and showed us the town and some expat communities too, he even showed us his home in downtown Boquete, which gave insight into how it would look to settle in the area including rental costs. Last but not least, Megan and baby Noah, who welcomed us into their home in Boquete, truly kind people who can assist you in anything you may need if/when you decide to move to the country and you will definitely include them all among your circle of friends by the end of this tour, we do!
Cherie and I could not recommend this tour and this group of people to introduce you to Panama and provide you with all the tools you will need to settle in Panama, whether you are there for a lifetime, or short stays on the way to retirement, you will not regret partnering with these folks! Enjoy!
